Human Resources Recruiting and Staffing




Assalammualaikum, Hello everyone, Now I will tell you about Human Resources Recruiting and Staffing. This is an interesting topic to discuss. This topic also need three group to do a presentation in class including my group. My group need to present a topic about ‘Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Recruitment’ on 22 October 2012. According to Cascio ( 2006 ) the goal of the recruitment function is to identify, attract and hire the most qualified people. I think this is interesting topic to discussed. Recruitment and staffing is an important element in Human Resource Management that we have learned in the last semester. What I have learned over the following learning of the human resource recruiting and staffing is the definition of recruitment is the process of having the right person, in the right place at the right time. In addition, recruitment process is an important process in selecting workers.

When we talk about Human Resources Recruiting and Staffing, I can say it good for each organization to conduct E-Recruitment. According to Lukaszewski K.M et al. ( 2011 ), using online recruitment can save 95% of recruitment cost other than traditional method. From this topic, I actually took some important things which is online recruitment can give advantages to company such as for position vacancies element. From this positive vacancies element, online recruitment can facilitate the management to disseminate information and articles related to the job vacancies offered by the organization. Online recruitment also have their disadvantages such as organizations can missing of the information and lack of personal interaction between organization and candidates.

From this reflection, I can understand the subsystem of recruiting and staffing. For me, I also can differentiate the process of online recruiting and staffing. At the same time, I knew the role of technology and the recruitment and selection processes in organizations. Besides that, I am also understand about research-based guidelines on the effective design and use of online recruitment strategies such as online recruiting must incorporate privacy protection policies, including those limiting the collection of information to only employment specific data and those restricting access to and distribution of such data ( Stone et al., 2005 ).

In a conclusion, this topic explained about the intersection between the use of technology in the recruitment and selection process and the use of Human Resource Information System in organizations.
