HRIS Systems and Systems Architecture
Kavanagh
et al. ( 1990 ) define Human Resources Information System ( HRIS ) is
a system used to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze, retrieve and
distribute information regarding an organization’s human resources.
Hello everyone, during the 1 October 2012, we are going to learn and
discussed about HRIS Systems and System Architecture topic. From the
lecture Dr. Roya Anvari, I am understand that, Human Resources
Information System give many advantages to organization such as
improving employee satisfaction by delivering Human Resource ( HR )
services more quickly and accurately. From this topic, I have learnt
about the HR Systems Architecture. I know that there are three basic
system architecture commonly use in the Human Resource Information
System model. That system is standalone system, data warehouse model
and single integrated system model.
During
this class, I know standalone system is a basic of Human Resource
Information System architecture which each operating unit runs its
own independent system with no worldwide standard in place and no
link each other. Data warehouse model is more advance that standalone
model. It is use more to the sharing of knowledge, share all
application and use the same system. About the single integrated
system model is only focus at headquarters and connected with every
region in the country. This model more to advance than standalone
system and data warehouse model. With this model there are only one
instance of the database generally located at corporate headquarters.
From
this reflection, the important things I get from the Human Resource
Information System and System Architecture is I can know and
understanding about concept of HRIS system with more clearly. In
addition, I can described the differences between the three basic
system architecture commonly use in the Human Resource Information
System model such as standalone system, data warehouse model and
single integrated system model. I am also understand how HR System
architecture functioning in organization.
About
an activity, Dr. Roya Anvari also give question to every students to
discuss in own group. From this activities, we can sharing our
knowledge and working together to improve understanding about this
topic. In a conclusion, no matter what model is being implemented, it
must be able to apply the information system. So,that all
organization will receive and use the model in their respective
business.
